The Flyers are looking to redeem themselves and make the playoffs this season. Well, they are off to a solid campaign in 2019-20. Of course, with some highs, a team encounters some adversity. Look no further than five forwards all succumbing to some type of injury at once, or the new Justin Braun injury.

One of the questions or flavor of the day was who were the Flyers going to call-up in wake of the Braun injury? Personally, the timing of this recall is odd, was Friedman recalled because of the bad game with Philippe Myers last night, or a possible injury to Shayne Gostisbehere, who was in some discomfort following last night’s game? Either way folks, someone was going to be recalled with the Braun injury, and it is Mark Friedman. To make room for Friedman, Andy Andreoff has been loaned back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Finally, Friedman gets his shot with the big club this season, as he looks to make an immediate impression under Head Coach Alain Vigneault.

Friedman, a Right-Handed defenceman, finally gets a shot to make an imprint with the orange and black. Drafted by the Flyers in 2014 at 86th overall. Friedman has been solid as of late with the Phantoms this season, after a really strong training camp with the big club. For the Phantoms, he has registered 2 goals, to go along with 8 apples in 28 games played this season. Moreover, Friedman may have received an earlier call-up, but seven, at times eight defensemen, have blocked him from seeing time with the big club. Hopefully, Friedman finds his niche this go around, as he has NHL experience.

Hopefully, Friedman can provide a much needed spark to this club that needs it right about now, and he can kill penalties, as well. One thing is certain Flyers fans, the future is bright in Flyer land.
