With only 11 games remaining for the Philadelphia Flyers this season the state of the franchise is seemingly in flux. From an on ice perspective the Flyers are in the midst of a hot streak securing 7 of their last 8 points in 4 games played. In the circumstances the organization is currently in, securing the best possible draft position is certainly something that would help the Flyers moving forward. That would increase their chances of selecting an impact game changing player. Realistically though, NHLers who are paid professionals to play the game are not going to actively head out onto the ice and attempt to lose.

Along with that, based on the Flyers current position draft wise and the games remaining the team is likely destined to select within the 5-9 range in this upcoming draft. As a result, the Flyers winning some games and the young players being the main catalysts in those wins is a good thing. These wins are likely not going to affect the team’s draft positioning very much. Ensuring the team’s younger players are performing well and progressing is important for the franchise moving ahead. This latest stretch of 4 games has been just that, young Flyers players performing well.

In the past 4 games here are some stats outlining the great play of the Flyers young players:

  • Joel Farabee (23): 4 goals, 2 assists
  • Owen Tippett (24): 3 goals, 2 assists
  • Morgan Frost (23): 1 goal, 4 assists
  • Noah Cates (24): 1 goal, 4 assists
  • Tyson Foerster (21): 2 goals, 4 assists
