Travis Konecny, what more can anyone say about Travis Konecny. He’s a ball of energy, showing and giving the Flyers life. Konecny was stellar all season long, for the most part, and he really matured into a very good leader and player for the orange and black. Even so-much-so, Konecny finished the season with 33 goals and 35 assists for 68 points, and he finished the season with an “A” on his chest.

With the Flyers starting out to a 15-10-2 record to begin the season, a player that really shined was Travis Konecny. Looking forward, there was never a doubt that Travis was back to his old ways, and becoming a leader inside the Flyers locker room. Konecny had that feistiness from a few years ago, but even more impressive was his scoring abilities. He had 16 goals through the first 26 games of the season, and Konecny at one point was tied for sixth in the league in that particular category, “All the young guys are a year older from last year. We’re trying to make a good culture that everyone falls into, continues to work and believes in each other,” Konecny said following the victory against the Arizona Coyotes.

Even with all his success, Konecny always credited someone else, “He’s helped my game a lot. He’s one of the best defensive guys in the game,” Konecny said of Sean Couturier. Konecny said Couturier has helped him become a more mature player.

With his new contract, will Travis Konecny play with Matvei Michkov?

Michkov really found his niche with Sochi. He’s that scoring threat that people remember, in his hands are pretty slick. Michkov likes to attempt the Michigan, and it will drive John Tortorella nuts when he makes the Flyers, but it’s all and good fun.

On paper, it looks to be that Michkov will wind up playing with Tyson Foerster and Morgan Frost. They will make up the second line, and this is a huge opportunity for Frost. Frost is in a contract year, so he’s trying to prove his worth, especially to stay within the Flyers organization.

Foerster looks to build off last year successes, after eclipsing the 20 goals mark in his rookie season. He knows how to find the back of the net. Let’s see what transpires, and see how things play out next month at training camp.
