The Phillies blasted five homeruns last night for a 7-0 victory over the Houston Astros to take a 2-1 lead in the World Series. It’s just unbelievable what has transpired on Broad Street over the course of the past few months for the Phillies. They went from a team doomed for failure, to perennial contenders soon after Joe Girardi was canned. What a magical run it has been this post season for the team next door to the Flyers.
The Flyers left for New York on Monday for their game on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers, proudly sporting their Phillies gear. Felix Sandstrom captured below looks happy wearing his red and white.
It’s great to see the City of Philadelphia and their sports teams rally around the Phillies. Again this has been a magical ride, and last week Kevin Hayes exited an interview saying “Go Phillies.” This is great camaraderie for a proud city that deserves another championship. It gets even better, the best Anthemist in hockey will be singing “God Bless America” during the 7th inning tonight, yes the Flyers own Lauren Hart:
