Flyers fans patience is needed and major changes are in store for the Flyers franchise. Dave Scott and Chuck Fletcher are out, as new era of Flyers hockey begins. Scott will officially retire on April 1, and Dan Hilferty will take over as chairman of Comcast Spectacor officially on April 17.

The first to report this retirement was Anthony SanFilippo of CrossingBroad, and I did hear the same thing about a month ago, hence placing that in my piece above. With Scott and Fletcher out, major changes are in store for this proud franchise. Fans have been clamoring for both Scott and Fletcher to depart for some time now.

With announcing his retirement, the timing is right. The Flyers have been in a free fall since the 2019-20 season, and they are entering a rebuild. It’s time for a fresh set of eyes, and new guidance to right this ship. Is Hilferty the guy? Who knows right, all I know about Hilferty is he is a big hockey fan, much bigger than people realize.

There is a new changing of the guard in Flyers hockey after thirty years of service to Comcast. He will no longer be the Governor of the Flyers, and hopefully the Flyers can right the ship with Hilferty moving forward.

  1. Another domino falls…GOOD.

I can immediately think of 3 more who also need to retire, and follow Dave out the door.

My only concern: I hope this isn’t an ‘April Fool’s’ joke.

The team has been chasing ‘Fool’s Gold’ with this pseudo-point streak , and has nothing to play for.

    Let’s not forget that.

This is a hockey team…not Club Med.
