We all know the Flyers took a sniper in this Draft in Tyson Foerster, but who are some NHL players he is compared to..? A guy like T.J Oshie? Mark Stone? Corey Perry? Let’s take a look..

It has honestly been awhile since the Flyers took a pure sniper/goal scorer, maybe since Jeff Carter in 2003 at #11. This was honestly one of the biggest things I think the Flyers needed, a guy who can shoot the puck and score, and that’s what Foerster is.

When he was taken by the Flyers I wasn’t surprised, as he was looked at to be in the 20-34 range by many analysts, guys like Craig Button had him at 16. Bob Mckenzie had him at 29, it all is just a bunch of speculation. I didn’t know too much about the kid, and I was really eager to find out as soon as I heard his name get called by Flyers GM, Chuck Fletcher.

As soon as I saw some highlights on Youtube, the way the analysts were talking about him at the Draft, I was very excited. I watched more highlights and head more great things. He led the WHL in PPG’s with 18, (36g, 44a) 80 points in 62 games played, and he was the POTG for Team White of the CHL Top Prospects Game.

I am telling you Flyers fans, I see a lot of Jack Eichel in this kid. I don’t want to make a expectation on the kid, it’s just a resemblance in my eyes, but I see a lot of Eichel in him. Think about it, a very good shot, likes to take the one-timer from the left-circle dot on the PP, the way he handles the puck is very similar as well.

They talk about Foerster and his skating being something he has to work on and something to look out for, but I would reconsider that. Travis Konecny was a guy who was looked at with skating issues, was that why Travis dropped off a few picks? Who knows, just something to think about. I don’t think Konecny has a skating issue now and I honestly never saw one to begin with.

Foerster even said himself he compares himself to T.J Oshie because he is a “complete player”, and that is a very good comparison. I look at Eichel the same way, a complete player. Can shoot, pass, skates very well, the raw talent is there, and obviously the leadership qualities as well.

I am very excited that the Flyers took Foerster, and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table…
