Well, Well Flyers fans. The wait is finally over. Jett Luchanko and Matvei Michkov made their much anticipated NHL Debuts this past week. What a few nights it was for the orange and black, so let’s watch Michkov’s first point again, and again, and again!!!

Fans were treated to a fun-filled nights of seeing his skating abilities and stick handling abilities, especially with his between the legs play towards the tail of end of the season opener against the Vancouver Canucks. Much like the rookie game and pre-season tilts, Michkov was trying his best to create plays. For instance, making quick sweet passes, and playing well along the boards.

The best plays that he created were on the defensive side of the puck, however. He stripped two players of the puck, one each game played on Friday and Saturday night, then went the other for odd man rushes. Below is the one play I speak of, made against the Calgary Flames:

Michkov appears to communicate well with his peers. He made some nice plays to Travis Konecny and Morgan Frost alike, but Konecny almost fed him a beauty with Michkov open in the slot in the first period. Unfortunately, the puck was picked off, and the Canucks went the other way with it. Just good awareness and patience by Michkov though.

Of course, he made some dandy moves, as he always does. He appeared to get stronger and more confident in the third period of play against the Canucks, so this might bode well for tests this week against the Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken, and the Vancouver Canucks in the home opener.
