Tyson Foerster was on fire to close out the 2024-25 season! He racked up 25 goals and 18 assists in 81 games with the Flyers, with a blazing nine goals in his final nine games. Hitting that 25-goal milestone for the first time is huge, and you can feel his confidence shining through in that exit interview quote, “I’d love to be here forever.” Sounds like he’s got a deep connection to Philly and is hungry for more. With that kind of finish, he had every reason to head into the offseason with a swagger, and it paid off with signing a new two-year deal. The deal will pay him $3.75 million per year, but that is one less Restricted Free Agent the Flyers have to sign.

He loves what Danny Briere and Keith Jones are building, and they know there are better days coming for this franchise, “It’s great to be here,” Foerster said at exit interviews. “I love it here, whether it’s a short-term or long-term deal. I don’t care, I love it here.”

A young 23-year-old in Forester elaborates further about the team, “We are super close. We all go to dinner together. If someone messes up, we are not going to bi..h at each other. Sorry for my language.”

Foerster’s defensive growth was a big part of his breakout 2024-25 season. His ability to stay involved in plays really stood out, and that skating strength was a key part to his game. That moment against the New York Islanders early in the season—where he chased down the puck to negate an icing call—shows how his speed and determination turned heads. Even if the ref missed it, the replay proved Foerster’s hustle and strong strides made the difference. It’s clear his defensive work and skating have become major assets, complementing his 25-goal offensive pop. He’s shaping up to be a complete player for the Flyers!

“He looks like he could be a piece of a really good hockey team. Where exactly he fits in, that will be determined. To have his scoring touch at his age and his 200 ft game, that’s a pretty rare package.” – Former Flyers’ Interim Head Coach Brad Shaw said at exit interviews

At only 23-years-old, Tyson Foerster is starting to show maturity at such a young age on the ice. Tyson is a strong playmaker and has a shoot first mentality. Foerster is unlike most Flyers prospects with his unique goal scoring abilities, coupled with his good playmaking skills, “I feel like I still have to work. Work my tail off and try to earn myself a spot on this team,” Foerster said back at training camp.
