Ty Murchison, a Flyers’ defensive prospect, is out for the rest of the 2025-26 season. He suffered an upper-body injury on January 10, 2026, during a game with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Springfield.

Murchison underwent surgery for the injury, which is tough for the young rookie. This is tough news for the 22-year-old rookie, who made his NHL debut with the Flyers in December 2025. He showed promise during a brief call-up before the injury.

There is a lot of upside to Murchison, as he hopes to take the next step, next season. Get well soon to Murchison—he’s a promising talent with strong skating and physicality.
