Trevor Zegras was traded to the Flyers by the Anaheim Ducks on June 23, 2025. In exchange, the Ducks received Forward Ryan Poehling, a 2025 second-round pick (No. 45 overall), and a 2026 fourth-round pick. Zegras was in attendance last night at the Flyers draft party, and he was having a ball.

Trevor Zegras said he definitely texted Cam (York) and Jamie (Drysdale) first following the trade, “Jamie doesn’t show much emotion, but he was pretty happy.”
Zegras says a lot of current Flyers teammates reached out to him and it “Meant a lot.” It’s not easy being traded, but feeling welcomed makes everything easier to acclimate to the city and it’s cultures.
A 24-year-old Center in Zegras, had 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 57 games during the 2024-25 season with Anaheim, despite missing time due to a torn meniscus. The Flyers are hoping Zegras, a former Calder Trophy runner-up with back-to-back 60+ point seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23, can regain his form and bolster their top-six Center position. He’s in the final year of a three-year, $17.25 million contract ($5.75 million cap hit) and will be a Restricted Free Agent next offseason.

“The Flyers are such an amazing organization,” Zegras said yesterday before the draft. Zegras says he is really happy to play close to family. One thing most don’t know about Zegras is that he was sitting in front of Cam York at the draft in 2019. York dapped Zegras when he was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks. The two have been friends for a while.
Trevor Zegras had one last good thing to say that Flyers’ fans would love to hear, “The Flyers are such an amazing organization.” He wants to play for Philly, and that is music to any fans ears.
