Sean Couturier, the Flyers’ Captain, has been actively assisting Trevor Zegras with faceoff techniques during the 2025-26 season’s Training Camp. Couturier said yesterday that Zegras was the one who approached him and asked for help in that area.

Zegras called Sean Couturier the “X factor” in faceoffs. He went up to Couturier and said, “What have you got for me?”
After Zegras was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in June 2025, Couturier was seen working with him on faceoffs following Captain’s practice scrimmages.
Zegras, transitioning back to center after playing wing, has acknowledged his need to improve in this area, where he has a career faceoff win percentage of 40.1%. Couturier, known for his strong two-way play and faceoff prowess, has expressed openness to mentoring teammates, particularly centers like Zegras, to help them reach their potential. This collaboration is part of Zegras’ adjustment to a key role in the Flyers’ lineup, aiming to bolster their Center depth.

More Zegras
Zegras says it’s easy to trust a coach like Rick Tocchet, “Great, I enjoyed it,” Zegras said of the first day of Flyers training camp.
Zegras was paired with Alex Bump and Travis Konecny yesterday. Konecny praised Zegras ‘s skill, and also said that Zegras knows when he (Konecny) wants the puck. It appears that they are building chemistry, and yes it’s only day one.

Maybe a new bromance Is growing between him and Konecny. It appears that both parties want to make the playoffs this coming season at the very least.
More Camp Notes:
Tyson Foerster confirmed yesterday that his injury was indeed just an infection he sustained from Worlds. He also said there is not another issue with the area, and he hopes to be ready for game one.
