Rasmus Ristolainen won a bronze medal with Team Finland at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics! Finland defeated Slovakia 6-1 in the bronze medal game on February 21, 2026, securing third place in men’s ice hockey.

Travis Sanheim, on the other hand, represented Canada and earned a silver medal. Canada advanced to the Gold medal game after a 3-2 semifinal win over Finland (where Sanheim recorded an assist and helped eliminate Ristolainen’s team), but they fell 2-1 in overtime to the United States, with Jack Hughes scoring the Golden goal.
Both are Flyers’ Defensemen, so it’s cool to see two teammates come home with Olympic hardware from the same tournament—Ristolainen with bronze and Sanheim the Silver.

The Flyers organization congratulated both on their achievements. This was a big showing for Flyers players at the Games (Head Coach Rick Tocchet was also on Canada’s staff and got silver too). Great tournament for both! If you’re a Flyers fan, their stock is definitely up after strong performances in big minutes.
