Travis Konecny is always vocal, chirping, and seems to just enjoy his time playing the game he loves most. Typically he’s always smiling and press conferences, and a ball of fun. That’s just who Konecny is. Following a season of disappointment, even though he lead the team with 52 points, John Tortorella has given him a vote of confidence:
“I have seen him from afar play. I just like his energy. He has had a really good camp. He is just one of those players that you are looking to put in all situations. He just has so much pride in his game, you can’t help but look at that.” – John Tortorella on Travis Konecny
Konecny is an electrifying player, and really playing at a high level with Scott Laughton and Kevin Hayes. Tortorella and the rest of the coaching staff trusts Konecny, whether it be late in the games, or on the penalty kill as the coaching staff continues to trust him in all situations. For his effort, he has tallied three goals and one assist in two games played, as it appears he has a shoot first mentality once again, “I think it’s just everyone’s buying in,” Travis Konecny said. “Everyone’s just playing hard. Everyone’s moving their feet. It’s really attractive and you kind of latch on to guys when they’re playing that way. You just kind of jump over the boards. You do what the last guy did and you just build off of each other.”
The young rising star in Konecny does a little bit of everything. He will chip in on the power play, lay a big hit, block shots, and most of all do anything to help the team win. Konecny is a confident player, having fun, and doesn’t want to come off the ice. If any player needed to prove that they would get along with Torts it was Konecny.
Konecny is fresh off being a new dad, and this by far is one of the greatest achievements that he will achieve in his lifetime. He will fulfill his biggest duty and that is being a dad. Everything else will be second-third-and so on. Yes, his job with playing hockey is important, however, his wife and his child are far more important.

He has found a new attitude, and this should rub off well on his teammates off the ice. He will always be charismatic, but he looks to embark on a big rebound season in 2022-23:
“TK is an unbelievable player. He’s an all-star player in this league. He’s arguably our best player, and last year – stats aren’t always a big picture.” – Kevin Hayes on Konecny
“I’m sure he thinks about it, it’s written about, it’s talked about,” Hayes said. “I don’t think he’s done anything too drastic to change. I think his energy’s always there; he’s always kind of a rat, and when he scores goals and he’s being himself it just adds to his fuel, and it makes him look that much better. He knows he’s a great player, everyone in this league knows he’s a really good player. It’s great that he’s off to a hot start and hopefully it keeps going.”
Konecny’s successes hasn’t been easy, but nothing is in life. He just stuck with it and it’s paying dividends in his game right now, the team is benefiting from the fruits of Konecny’s patience of sticking with it. One thing Konecny likes is the energy in the building:
