As much as people downed Konecny last year, I believe that he used that negativity to better himself this year and really help out the team. Travis’ teammates speak very highly of him:
“TK is an unbelievable player. He’s an all-star player in this league. He’s arguably our best player, and last year – stats aren’t always a big picture. I’m sure he thinks about it, it’s written about, it’s talked about. I don’t think he’s done anything too drastic to change. I think his energy’s always there; he’s always kind of a rat, and when he scores goals and he’s being himself it just adds to his fuel, and it makes him look that much better. He knows he’s a great player, everyone in this league knows he’s a really good player. It’s great that he’s off to a hot start and hopefully it keeps going.” – Kevin Hayes
I think most of us can agree with Kevin that Travis is an All-Star player when he is playing with confidence. As the season wears on, everyone is excited to see more of TK, “I have seen him from afar play,” John Tortorella said. “I just like his energy. We kind of switched up the PK pairs tonight trying to get him more time. He has had a really good camp. He is just one of those players that you are looking to put in all situations. He just has so much pride in his game, you can’t help but look at that.”

Torts continued to rave about Travis Konecny, “He had a great camp. He is an important guy, especially with some of the injuries we have here. He has taken on a lot of the ice time where maybe Cam takes some of that and Coots. He has been good, good the first two games.
Konecny is off to a great start to the season, but unfortunately he will not be in the lineup tonight, per Flyers’General Manager Chuck Fletcher. In fact the news may get worse, as it does not sound promising that he has returned to Philadelphia for further evaluation.
The injuries just continue to pile up once again for the Flyers this season: Sean Couturier, Ryan Ellis, James van Riemsdyk, Wade Allison, Cam Atkinson, and Bobby Brink. Hopefully, the Flyers start to get healthy, and are able to improve upon their 7-7-3 record.
