Travis Konecny, what more can anyone say about Travis Konecny. He’s was a ball of energy, showing and giving the Flyers life. Konecny has been stellar all season long, for the most part. He has really matured into a very good leader and player for the orange and black. Even so-much-so, Konecny leads the Flyers in goals and points with 11 a piece, giving him 22 points for the season In just 18 games played.

With the Flyers starting out to a 8-8-2 record to begin the season. Looking forward, there was never a doubt that Travis was back to his old ways, and becoming a leader inside the Flyers locker room. Konecny has that feistiness from a few years ago, but even more impressive was his scoring abilities.. “We’re trying to make a good culture that everyone falls into, continues to work and believes in each other,” Konecny said following the victory against the San Jose Sharks.

Even with all his success, Konecny always credited someone else, “I like the kid. He’s playing well. You can tell he loves the game, he wants to score,” Konecny said of Michkov a few weeks ago.

As much as people downed Konecny in 2021-22, I believe that he used that negativity to better himself and that really helped out the team. John Tortorella speaks very highly of him:

“He’s just a really good player. He knows he’s a good player. When his mind is straight, and he doesn’t get caught up in the antics of it all, and just plays, his engine is so good. It’s fun to watch him play.” – Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella said at Training Camp

It’s the effort on a nightly basis that has this team believing in one another, not to mention it’s ‘Us against the World’ mentality. Konecny is happy to be a Flyer, and he just wants to keep getting better in the same process.

John Tortorella talks culture

Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere has reshaped the locker room from the time he took over the team. Both he and Tortorella wanted a good locker room, and both speak highly of the room now, “I always talk about our room, that’s a huge part of it,” John Tortorella said following the Sabres game. “If there’s one thing that has come together in our rebuild, it’s that. We subtracted people and I preface this, really good people. It just wasn’t the right time for those guys to being here.”

Cam York and Emil Andrae

There is a possibility that Cam York comes back tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. We should find out in the morning, as he has been skating fully with the team. The Flyers also placed Samuel Ersson on IR, so that could mean that he is set the return, as it opens up a roster spot.

Emil Andrae did not practice yesterday, and continues to get testing for his injury. More than likely, he will not play tonight against the Avalanche.
