What a victory, the Flyers continue to lose one and win one. Last night they were able to carve a victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3.
Morgan Frost has been heating up as of late, and he netted his career high 6th goal this season.. Frost just looks more confident, and poised with the puck. It appears that he wants to puck more, and the puck appears to be finding him more in the same token. He just looks like a different player this past month, in a good way. It’s safe to say that he’s starting to find his niche in the NHL.
Cam York rendered his second career multipoint game in the NHL. He registered two assists last night, and his play driving ability ranks off the charts. It’s been a breath of fresh air since his recall as he has registered one goal, three assists, and is a plus four. It says a lot about his game with being a plus player on this particular team.
Travis Konecny netted two goals and that makes 14 for the season. He also netted his first career shorthanded goal, as Konecny is thriving on the penalty kill while being thrusted into this role. This young man just continues his tear this season, “He’s a great player. I mean, there’s a reason why he’s been in the NHL his whole entire career” Hayes said following the game. “He scores pretty much 20-25 a year. He’s a lead player, probably one of our best players. He’s playing well right now.”
“You see how I use him, so I trust him,” John Tortorella said of Travis Konecny. “I’m always looking for him. He does some crazy stuff at times. We need to work with situational play with him, but you’ve got to be really careful of how – he’s just a reaction type player – you got to be really careful how you coach him because I need to let him go. Teach him a couple things along the way, but I need to let him go because that’s when he’s at his best.”
Lastly, Owen Tippett continues to give a glimpse of the future. Tippett netted two goals and he continues to skate well. He’s skating with confidence, as his line with JvR and Frost continues to wreak havoc on opponents. He now has 3g,2a in his last five games played..

Hopefully the Flyers continue their winning ways on Thursday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Carter Hart may get the night off after posting a 29 save effort with a .906 Save Percentage last night against the Blue Jackets.
