Well, whaddya know, the Philadelphia Flyers are the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, and they have punched their ticket to an outdoor dining date on the 11th or 12th of August against the Montreal Canadiens (Habs) next week, Dates to be confirmed.
The Round Robin has concluded with the Flyers going 3-0-0 against the top three teams in the Conference to earn the top seed. Now let’s dive in to a mini break down of this series against the Habs, shall we?
The Flyers won the season series 2-1 in the 2019-20. Winning back to back games, and then losing the series finale (PreCovid) by a score of 4-1. Both of the Flyers victories came in overtime by scores of 3-2 and 4-3. Certainly set up for a great series here in 2020. 10 years ago, when the Flyers faced the Canadiens in the playoffs, and they won the series en route to the Stanley Cup Finals. 10 years later, these two teams meet again. Flyers fans are seeing a better team then the 2010 team, they are complete with a franchise goalie, depth, and unpredictability every night. This is what I would call a Cup contender. Speaking with a few fans on a friendly social media page known as “Gritty Nation”, they seem to be extremely pumped up and ready to get this series officially started. They won in 2010, they won the season series, now its time to win this best of seven series to move onto the next round, and hopefully bring a Championship back to Philadelphia once again! That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
Let’s go Flyers
