The Reading Royals, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, all Philadelphia Flyers affiliates, are really starting the season on a downward trend, as they dropped two more crucial games this past weekend.
First on Friday night, the Reading Royals played the Adirondack Thunder, and they fell 4-1 Friday night. I mean what more can one say, they cannot just put teams away. Moreover, they just continue to struggle and struggle.
The Royals have been beaten and battered this season, and they even had a goalie fight. Yes a goalie fight, that is not a typo.
Second Game
The Royals actually got off to a great start for once. Vinnie Purpura kept the Royals in it, with some quality goaltending. Purpura made some bell saves after bell saves to earn a much needed victory for the Royals.
Unfortunately, the Royals just have 22 points on the season, so every point at this point matters.
They really need to start putting together some wins to stay afloat in the conference. Yes, it is a new system, sort of speak, with Jason Binkley at the helm, but the team will offer no excuses, even with the recent rash of injuries.
Hopefully, the Royals can start mustering back to back wins for once.
