The Reading Royals, Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Philadelphia Flyers affiliates, are really starting the season tough, as they dropped two more crucial games this past weekend.
First on Friday night, they played the Norfolk Admirals, and they fell 4-3. I mean what more can one say, they cannot just put teams away. The Royals actually got off to a great start, as they lead 2-1 at the end of one. Tyler Gratton scored the first goal for the Royals.
Things started to go off thereafter, as the Admirals eventually took a 3-2 lead. The Royals tied it late in the third, off a great assist by Mason Primeau (Former Flyer Keith Primeau’s son). Unfortunately, the Royals fell in overtime and lost the game 4-3.
Second Game
Vinnie Purpura earned the loss once again, as the Royals fell to the Mariners once again 3-2. Sawyer Boulton tallied his first goal as a Royal.
The Royals fought and fought on the back end of a back to back, but they fell to 6-10-3 on the short season thus far.
They really need to start putting together some wins to stay afloat in the conference. Yes it is a new system, sort of speak, with Jason Binkley at the helm, but the team will offer no excuses.
Hopefully, the Royals can return back to their winning ways on Black Friday (11-29) against the Adirondack Thunder.
