After a year of hiatus a proud Flyers affiliate, the Royals are back. They returned with a vengeance finishing the season with 99 points, which was 10 more than the Newfoundland Growlers. For that matter, the Royals won the Conference over the second place team in the Conference which happened to be the Newfoundland Growlers.

The Royals came back and performed at a high level, as they extended their affiliation with the Flyers for one more season at the very least. Tonight their chase for the Kelly Cup begins with a series against the Maine Mariners. Danny Briere still serves as an General Manager for the Mariners, and Comcast Spectacor owns the team.

“We are excited to continue the partnership between the Royals and Flyers into our 20th Anniversary Season,” Royals General Manager David Farrar said before the season began. “We look forward to developing more players for the Flyers while achieving the ultimate goal of winning the Kelly Cup for a second time.”
