Flyers Affiliate, the Reading Royals have gotten off to a bit of a slow start to start the 2023-24 season, but they have since picked it up after starting the season 8-12-2. After last night’s thrilling victory they are now 16-17-2 on the season, and 6-4 in the last 10 games played. They also have a goal differential of -9 (108GF, 117GA), receiving better goaltending at this point in the season.
Fortunately, the Royals have won the first two games of the weekend series against the Maine Mariners. They won last night 5-1 with Shane Sellar, a phenomenal hockey player, sealing the deal for the Royals. On Friday night, the Royals won 5-2.
Sellar and Yvan Mongo set up the Royals quite nicely, as both had goals last night in the victory. Mongo now has nine goals and eight assists on the season in 23 games played. While Sellar now has 12 goals and nine assists in 35 games played .
Let’s see what happens with the Royals now with moving forward this season. Sometimes all a team needs is one key victory like this to jumpstart a club. The Royals got off to a bit of a slow start last season, as well, but then went on a tear for the rest of the season.
