The Lehigh Valley Phantoms scored a big victory last night, a massive victory.
Cal Petersen was really good in this tilt, backstopping 21 saves on 22 shots faced. Petersen moved well laterally from post to post, and he made some good odd man rush saves, as well.
The Phantoms upset the Penguins in game one winning 2-1. Rhett Gardner scored the game winning goal, and mind you Adam Brooks scored the game’s first goal.
They just appeared to be one step ahead of the Penguins through the entire game. It appeared the Phantoms were faster and stronger to the pucks than the Penguins, believe it or not. The Penguins won the season series, as the Phantoms finished the season series 4-7-1.
What’s even crazier is the Phantoms are going for the sweep if they win Friday night. Let’s hope the series ends with a Phantoms victory.
