Kyle Beach, is it victim and survivor of a sexual assault when he was a member of the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2010. Brad Aldrich, a video coach, sexually assaulted Beach before the Stanley Cup Finals began in 2010. Below is an interview with Beach and Rick Westhead of TSN, with Beach detailing some events, to include former Blackhawks icon and head coach Joel Quenneville:

Most failed Beach, and the NHL continues to do so, especially after Quenneville was allowed to coach last night for the Florida Panthers, after a detailed report came out Monday, before the Panthers were set to play the Boston Bruins Wednesday night. Quenneville has a meeting today at some point with Gary Bettman, who is the commissioner of hockey, to discuss the matters that were detailed in the report’s findings that were made public this past Monday.

Coach Q shouldn’t have been allowed to coach this game until his hearing was complete with Bettman. This is a serious allegation, and sexual assault should not be tolerated in society.

“There is absolutely no way he can deny knowing it.” – Kyle Beach on Joel Quenneville

But yet, Quenneville was allowed to coach against the Bruins last night for Florida. It is unreal that the NHL, whom already has a blackeye regarding this matter, was allowed to coach following this detailed report that was released Monday to the public, as aforementioned above.

Per the NHL rules, “If the infraction might require a suspension of six games or more, the offending Player is offered the opportunity to an in-person hearing. In this case, the Player remains suspended until the hearing takes place. If the Player waives his right to an in-person hearing, the hearing will be conducted by phone.” So why wasn’t this the case for Quenneville last night? Quenneville could possibly face dismissal from the league if found guilty of these serious violations.

This is 2021 and survivors of sexual assault continue to feel as though they are in the wrong, when it has been proven otherwise, especially in this case for Beach. Beach is a hero, a survivor, and it’s time for the NHL to take the right stand for Beach and his family.
