The Lehigh Valley Phantoms have been up and down like a roller coaster all season long, with winning one game and losing the next, and so on. The Phantoms just have trouble mustering back to back victories.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins won Friday night, in a nail biter. A young blueliner Ethan Samson just continues to razzle and dazzle the Flyers top brass. He really has taken his game to another level this season, and it’s great to see. Finally, the Flyers have capable young blueliners that are able to provide hope for the future, with Emil Andrae and Samson ready to take off when their number is called.
He scored a big goal for the Phantoms in the 3-2 loss, eventually, but Samson continues to impress. Samson has five goals and six assists on the season in just 28 games played. Last season, Samson only amassed 12 points in 63 games played. What a dramatic improvement for Samson from the year prior. He is becoming a stable defender at the professional level. Like I have noted before, he could see a recall in the future for his efforts.
Game 2 (Charlotte Checkers)
The Phantoms got a much needed victory over Charlotte. Alexis Gendron continues his solid season with a Power Play Goal, while Brendan Furry scored the game winner with a short-handed goal.
They have been beaten and battered with injuries, most notably Anthony Richard, who has missed about a month with an injury. Richard should be coming back soon, hopefully anyways.
Emil Andrae assisted on the game winning goal. This young man in Andrae has done it all with the Phantoms and Flyers. He has really catapulted himself into one heck of a young defenseman.
Adding muscle (Bigger and stronger) is usually the common theme of young prospects at his age of 22. They can be a bit raw, but fill out in a year to two years. Andrae loves to shoot the puck when he gets man opportunity, and he does not shy away from physicality.
