All good things must come to an end, as another chapter will close on another Flyers season following a game against the Ottawa Senators tonight, the last hurrah. The fans deserve a lot of credit for sticking it out during a tough season.

The fans have supported this team through thick and thin, weather it would be in person at the Wells Fargo Center, or at their homes still watching on the television. They are passionate, and just love the sport of hockey.

There may not be a lot to watch tonight during the Flyers game, something that grabs peoples’ attention to tune in, or something that I need to watch because of this…however, following tonight’s game Flyers fans will miss their team in about a month. Fans will miss everything about it, they will miss smells of the rink, checking stats out, tweeting about them, looking to see what time they practice. They will miss just everything about the Flyers, regardless of how this team does the fans still love the sport.

Noah Cates (15GP), Ronnie Attard (14GP), and Bobby Brink (9GP) have all played in more games than Flyers star defenseman Ryan Ellis. Anyone would have said that before the year began, that three former collegiate players would play in more games than Ellis this season, I would have laughed at them. Actually, Owen Tippett has suited up in 20 games with the Flyers this season, and has tallied five points (3g,2a). He has the same amount of points as Ellis this season (1g,4a before getting hurt).

Even though, the season is hearing a clothes, this does not mean our coverage stops. Excellent coverage especially after a tough season like this one, so we will give it to them. Thank you for everything Flyers fans, and enjoy the last game of the season with a cold one.

1 thought on “The last hurrah Flyers fans

  1. Yep, watched or went to almost every game this year. It is the love of hockey and the hometown team, but the foundation is the love of hockey. I am a Flyers fan through and through and wouldn’t even know where to start with this rebuild. Not because I don’t know the game but because management has really set themselves up for long term failure. So the last game is tonight, a Flyers team without a coach or captain takes the ice. I’ll either buy a last minute ticket or stream it. And then like Cinderella at midnight I will turn into a Panthers fan. …just for a bit.
