Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Hockey Writers Ink. On this week’s show myself and Steel are here to point out some Unsung Heroes. But first we will discuss a certain Finnish Prospect the Flyers should be keeping their eyes on.
Until recently the with the selection of Samu Tuomaala the Flyers have turned their backs on Finnish talent when it came to the draft but with now that it looks like they are finally getting on board with the Suomi. There is one very underrated Finnish sharp shooting prospect they should be keeping an eye on.
In the second segment of the show, we bring light to a few names that have stepped up in the absence of a few of the team’s star players. With star center Kevin Hayes and first pairing defenseman Ryan Ellis still out two players in particular have made it so that the team did not falter when they went down. Instead, their superior play has not only allowed the team to maintain a very respectable spot in the Metropolitan Divisions standings but given able time for their stars to heal properly.
Continuing on with the thought of players returning from the injured reserve list AV will surely have some tough decisions ahead of him as to who comes out of the lineup. Derick Brassard, Zack MacEwen, Nate Thompson, and defenseman Nick Seeler all have been playing well. But with names like Wade Allison and Samuel Morin also getting closer to returning this lineup is sure to look different real soon.
Management should be happy with their teams play thus far and the Flyers depth has shown they are ready to take on the rest of the leagues elite teams come playoff time. Come join us as we talk about all these things and much more by clicking the link below. You won’t be disappointed.
