Hello and welcome back to another addition of The Hockey Writers Ink Pod Cast. This week Steel and I welcome special guest writer and Pod Caster: Joe Borek to the show to help us breakdown the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Frozen Four and so much more. Both Joe and I got to cover the Regional Championships up in Allentown, PA for www.FlyersNittyGritty.com recently where we saw the University of Michigan advance to the Frozen Four which is to be played up in Boston.
Before attending I wrote an article that previewed some potential players to watch (as you can read below) so in the first segment of the show we will discuss just who each of thought stood out on these impressive teams and which ones the Flyers should potentially look to sign once they are eliminated from the playoffs.
In the second segment of the show, we move on to the Frozen Four which is set to take place soon and preview the match ups and give our takes on just who we think will prevail. Will it be Bobby Brink and the University of Denver? Will it be the heavily favored force that is Michigan? Or might it be one of the two teams left from the great state of Minnesota? Click the link below to find out.
Last up we take a look at both the Flyers and Phantoms recent signings from the collegiate ranks already. With other teams having already been eliminated that means Flyers prospects who can now turn pro. So, the Flyers of course signed Noah Cates their 5th round pick from 2017 who played with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and defenseman Ronnie Attard from Western Michigan University. But the Phantoms also took it upon themselves to sign a few college players as well. Where these wise decisions or more wrong ones? Come watch the show to find out what we think.
