Welcome back to the show where the writer is fresh off the presses and the ink is not yet dry. I’m your host Lance Green and as always, my buddy Steel will be along for the ride. In this week’s show we plan to focus on depth and leadership. Something like the title infers that at least for the Flyers is no longer just affectatious!
Getting right to it in our first segment we discuss the factors surrounding my first article that some thought to be downright blasphemy towards certain prospects that they hold holier than thou, when I suggested the Flyers sign an NHL proven depth forward for cheap that has three 15+ goal seasons in the NHL. Over having to rely on the teams still unproven youth right out the gate.
Which later on in the week the Flyers proved to have a similar mind set given the fact that they are in a win now mode after giving up a 1st round pick this summer to acquire help now. When they signed veteran center Derick Brassard to a one-year contract. Which we touch on the importance of as well.
Next up Steel and I take a look at a Flyers signing that went unnoticed by some but will end up paying dividends this season. Which I wrote about in the article below.
A true depth forward that comes with a lot of recently acquired hardware, who will be able to show the teams youngsters the ropes down in Lehigh Valley.
Lastly, we then touch on the biggest news to hit Flyers fans twitter feeds as of late. The resigning of the Flyers’ Selke Trophy Award winner center Sean Couturier and what it means for the team moving forward.
