Welcome back to another edition of one of the Hottest new Flyers Pod Cast around: The Hockey Writer Ink. The show where Steel and I (writer Lance Green) sit down once a week to talk about latest articles and all other things concerning the team that we love the Philadelphia Flyers.

In this week’s episode we discuss two of my latest articles. First up we talk about:

Which was posted earlier in the week. In which I point out two different goaltenders that are currently playing in the NHL playoffs that you could see in a Flyers uniform next season. Both of these players are unrestricted free agents at the seasons end and have up young goaltending partners that are playing well and making them nothing more than ornamental.

Watch as Steel and I go back and forth discussing who might be the best option to replace the aging 36-year-old Brian Elliott and why there should be such a strong emphasis placed on doing so.

Next up we discuss my latest article. In which I reevaluated my earlier pick of whom the Flyers should take with their 1st round selection in the upcoming draft. Seeing that when I drew my first hypothesis there was still snow on the ground back in February and the team looked destined to at least sneak into the playoffs. Now that we know that didn’t happen it means that the team is to draft much earlier. In which we will get a much better player.

In this segment of the show Steel and I talk about the need verses want factor as far as what kind of positional player we think the teams needs and which one may be so tempting that they just can’t resist. For me, this prospect I picked checks all those boxes and more.

Lastly, we weigh in on the conundrum that is the recent Phantoms head coaching vacancy.

So come join us by clicking the link for the show provided below, because it’s about to get really interesting. As always the keyboards maybe off and the press box maybe closed but the mics are just getting warmed up!
