Back after a week off thanks to Hurricane Ida myself and Steel are set to get back to doing what we love and that’s bringing you all the latest and greatest Flyers’ content. On this week’s show we cover two topics surrounding my latest pieces.
In the first part of the show, we take an early look at how this upcoming draft class (like no one in recent memory) is loaded with right hand shot defenders. Where in this article I highlight four different ones that I think will stand out above all the rest for the Flyers.
All of which that I selected bring a little something different to the table than the one before them, and any of the four selected would be sure to bring some much-needed depth to the right side of the Flyers blueline in the future.
Next up we discuss two Flyers’ prospects who have to have a good camp or are in danger of being surpassed on the depth chart. Both of these aging prospects have been with the team for some time now. But since Chuck Fletchers introduction as the team’s general manager, he has not made their road to the NHL any easier. Picking up where Hextall left off Chuck has continued to hit the mark when making his selections on draft day. As a result, the teams depth chart has continued to expand with impressive prospects who are proving to develop at a much faster rate than some would have expected. This making for some stiff competition once the teams main camp is set to ensue.
With so many great prospects in camp and potentially many more still to come from the upcoming draft the Flyers cupboard is looking quite full. Possibly the fullest this writer has ever seen in it in his lifetime. With that being said why don’t you click the link below to watch us try to separate the men from the boys, as we debate on all these topics and more on the latest edition of The Hockey Writers Ink.
