Hello and welcome back to another edition of “The Hockey Writers Ink”, the podcast that brings you all the latest and greatest news, rumors and opinions surrounding the Philadelphia Flyers. On this week’s show will cover a few of my latest articles and some recent news involving the entire league.

First up after the signing of Jason Smith to be a coach for the Phantoms I was wondering just where one of the Flyers other gritty blueliners might be up to now. So, I did some research and wrote this piece on Derian Hatcher.

In this segment of the show, we take a look back on Hatcher’s tremendous career and find out just what he has been up to lately. Could he himself soon be found in a similar role as Smith?

After reminiscing about the Flyers past we move on to the present where a recent camp invite might just have some fans bringing up comparisons to Hatcher himself. In this article I posted just a few days back it talks about a prospect defenseman who is 6’7 and 238 pounds who will be lining up for drills in Voorhees in the coming weeks trying to earn a pro contract.

Lastly, Steel and I share our thoughts on the news coming from the NHL that this season there will be ads placed on the teams’ jerseys. Who’s for it who’s against it?
