Hello and welcome back to our Christmas edition of the show. Where Steel and I would have hoped we would be bringing you some better Flyers news but sadly COVID has once again brought a stop to the NHL. Along with that Commissioner Gary Bettman has come out and said that no NHL players will be headed to the Olympics this year.
But to try to bring some kind of Christmas cheer despite the previously mentioned recent news there is still some exciting hockey to watch. The World Junior Championships are on NHL Network and the Flyers are well represented this year. Tune in as myself and Steel touch on this and more which you should be thankful for this year.
Then we both discuss different Christmas wishes we have for how to fix the Flyers. We all know that the team is far off from winning a cup and why not start a rebuild now which would begin by ripping off the band-aid that is holding this team together. That band-aid being Claude Giroux. The team is only managing to beat some of their fellow seller dwellers and in his 15-year career the team has neither drafted nor traded for his replacement. Giroux is 33-years-old now with an expiring contract and in just a couple of months could walk for nothing. Leaving this franchise without not only a star player but any future star as well. Should the team trade him now? Should they try and re-sign him for another season in which would only delay the inevitable? Come watch to find out what we deem necessary.
