As the season is winding down, the Flyers have seemed to have lost all confidence to win games. Coming off an embarrassing 6-1 loss to the Washington Capitals, they will took on the Penguins, a team who is four points behind that #1 spot. Let’s get into it.
A strong Carter Hart
A difficult year for most players on the team, none more than Carter Hart. He’s had a tough season in front of a sub-par defense. It’s been quite a year, but tonight he played extremely well. Hart made 31 saves on 32 shots with a save percentage of .969% tonight. Some keys stops for sure all night to get the win. This was the first time Hart has defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, and it was a big win for the kid.
The other Carter?
Well it’s been a long time since we mentioned him, but former Flyer Jeff Carter faced his former team tonight. Freshly acquired from the LA Kings, Jeff Carter is a former Calder cup winner for the former Philadelphia Phantoms, and was a member of the 2010 Stanley cup Finals team. Jeff Carter is a bit older now, but certainly looking to win another cup before he calls it quits. Carter finished with two shots on net tonight, and shot high and wide haha.
