The Flyers had a busy day today, as expected with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms opening Training Camp on Sunday. Some did well during their taste of a Torts Camp or “Tortsture Camp”, while others knew the writing was on the wall for a cut. They have placed two players on waivers. Here are the list of players the Flyers waived today:
Isaac Ratcliffe
Linus Sandin
Isaac Ratcliffe was given every shot to make the team, but just didn’t knock down the doors for a spot. This is a big year for him nonetheless, as he could not replicate his performance from last season when he was recalled to the big club.
However, the Flyers just didn’t stop there. They have sent 18 players to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, to include:
Jordy Bellerive, Elliot Desnoyers, Jacob Gaucher, Charlie Gerard, Alex Kile, Tye McSorley, Cal O’Reilly, Garrett Wilson, Zayde Wisdom Colin Felix, Linus Högberg, Will MacKinnon, Millman, Wyatte Wylie, Cooper Zech, Tyler Wall, Nolan Maier, Jonathan Lemieux
Tyson Foerster survived another round of cuts, but he knows he needs to get his game going in order to win a spot with the club. Jackson Cates and Tanner Laczynski are both vying for the fourth line Center position, with Patrick Brown on the shelf from off-season back surgery.
In the end, I do not expect any of these players to get claimed. I expect both to fully clear, and report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms when they open camp.
