The Flyers had a busy day today. They have placed four players on waivers. Here are the list of players the Flyers waived today:
German Rubtsov
Connor Bunnaman
Adam Clendening
Gerald Mayhew
Judging from this list it appears Nick Seeler has won the seventh defenseman position. In addition, it appears Jackson Cates could very well win the 13th forward position.
However, the Flyers just didn’t stop there. They have sent five players to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, to include Morgan Frost, Linus Sandin, Cal O’ Reilly, Tyson Foerster, and Isaac Ratcliffe. O’Reilly was released from his PTO, so he was sent to the Phantoms.
Morgan Frost being sent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms comes as no shock to me. He needs to play, and Frost hasn’t played in many organized hockey games in a year and a half. It suits him better to go down to Lehigh, and come back within five to seven games and kill it. He needs to develop consistency after missing so much time.
Tyson Foerster really impressed the Flyers top brass this training camp. It would not shock me at all, if he comes in here and makes the team out right of Camp next season.
In the end, I do not expect any of these players to get claimed. I expect them to fully clear, and report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tomorrow.
I just don’t see why this comes as a surprise to anyone he needs ALOT of work before getting into the lineup and iam not to sure about him being anything more than an injury call up and not a full time NHLer. Time will tell
