The Flyers had somewhat of a busy day fighting the inevitable, as expected with their roster finally being approved by the NHL. Some did well during their taste of a Torts Camp or “Tortsture Camp”, while others knew the writing was on the wall for a cut. Emil Andrae, Bobby Brink, Tyson Foerster, and Felix Sandström all made the club for opening night, while sadly Rasmus Ristolainen was placed IR (Injured Reserve). Ristolainen has been skating and Tortorella has said it’s nothing serious.

Cates will be at the Center position, and Farabee made one heck of a return following serious surgery to his neck/back in the offseason.

Samuel Ersson has won the backup position for now, as Felix Sandström will also be looking for a chance when his name is called. Obviously, the Flyers believe Sandström would get claimed off waivers, hence why they refuse to waive him with the intent of sending him back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
