The Flyers honored their legendary Goaltender Bernie Parent, who passed away on September 21, 2025, at age 80, before their home opener against the Florida Panthers on October 13, 2025.

Of course, the tribute included a pregame ceremony with a video presentation and a standing ovation from fans chanting “Bernie,” as announced by public address announcer Lou Nolan. The team wore a No. 1 jersey patch, Parent’s retired number, and his number was painted behind both goals at Xfinity Mobile Arena for the entire 2025-26 season.
The Flyers also awarded the player of the game a Parent-style goalie mask, with goaltender Dan Vladař receiving it after their 5-2 win. Further tributes are planned, including a public Celebration of Life on November 21 and a dedication game on November 22 against the New Jersey Devils.
