On top of bringing back Justin Braun for another year, and signing a fighter Nic Deslauriers to a four-year contract. The Flyers made some depth signings, and they also re-signed Morgan Frost this past week to a one-year $800,000 deal.
Frost is banking on himself with this new deal, and it is a low-risk high-reward deal. Here is a list of the five depth signings:
Troy Grosenick– (G) Signed a one-year, one-way contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $750K.
Louis Belpedio– (D) to a one-year, two-way contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $750K.
Kevin Connauton– (D) was re-signed to a two-year, two-way contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $762,500.
Cooper Marody- (F) to a two-year, two-way contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $762,500.
Adam Brooks– (F) signed a two-year, two-way contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $762,500.
Cooper Marody is a great depth signing by the Flyers. Marody was formerly in the Flyers organization, to which he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers for a third round pick by former Flyers’General Manager Ron Hextall.
Chuck Fletcher said that Grosenick will compete with Felix Sandström for the backup position to Carter Hart in the Fall.
“Grosenick and Sandström will compete and camp, along with Sam Ersson,” Fletcher said. “In relation to Sam coming off the injury plague season that he did, we’re hoping to get him to full health and get them playing. We’ll have a competition in camp for the backup position.”
Whatever happens in the Fall is anyone’s guess, but Fletcher is loading up talent for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
I guess this is the aggressive retool CF was talking about.
