Today, the Flyers signed Spencer Gill to a three-year ELC (Entry-Level-Contract). This comes as no surprise. He had a great rookie camp and training camp for that matter. Gill now heads back to his club with his head held high.
Just a few days ago John Tortorella praised him after being cut, “I thought Gill (Spencer Gill) had a good camp. Big, tall, Right-Handed Defenseman.”
Spencer Gill, a Right-Handed defenseman was still on the board at 59 in the second round. Danny Briere then made a trade with Nashville to move up and snag him (Traded a 3rd rounder acquired from Minnesota in 2025, and pick #77).
Gill told our very own Vasili Gianarakos that he compares himself to Noah Dobson, following the Flyers selection.
How he will fare this season is anyone’s guess, but it’s great to have a contract in place for this young 18-year-old in Gill. This should give him much confidence for a good season ahead with his junior club Rimouski OcĂ©anic in the QMJHL.
