The Flyers have traded Goaltender Ivan Fedotov to the Columbus Blue Jackets on September 14, 2025, in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. The trade addresses Columbus’s need for Goaltending depth behind Elvis Merzlikins and Jet Greaves, providing an experienced option for potential recalls from their AHL affiliate in Cleveland.

For the Flyers, this move aligns with their recent signing of free agent Dan Vladar to a two-year, $6.7 million contract, positioning Vladar and Samuel Ersson as their NHL goaltending tandem for the 2025-26 season, while Fedotov (with a $3.275 million cap hit) was likely headed to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Fedotov, originally drafted by Philadelphia in the seventh round (188th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, joined the Flyers in 2024 after a contract dispute and military service in Russia delayed his arrival. His two-year contract with the Flyers expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, after which he will become an unrestricted free agent.
