The Flyers have have reportedly hired Yogi Svejkovsky to be part of Rick Tocchet’s staff as an Assistant Coach, per David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period:
Jaroslav “Yogi” Svejkovský is a Czech ice hockey coach and former professional player, born October 1, 1976, in Tábor, Czechoslovakia. He played as a left wing in the NHL for the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning, after being drafted 17th overall by the Capitals in 1996. His NHL career included 113 games, with 23 goals and 19 assists, highlighted by a four-goal game as a rookie in 1996–97, a Capitals record. His playing career ended early at age 24 due to post-concussion syndrome following injuries, including a concussion in 2000 while playing for the IHL’s Detroit Vipers.

Svejkovský transitioned to coaching, leveraging his experience and family background—his father was a professional goaltender and coach in Czechia. He served as a skills coach for the Vancouver Giants (WHL) from 2006 to 2018, contributing to a 2007 Memorial Cup win. He also worked with the Delta Hockey Academy and Seafair Minor Hockey Association. In 2021, he joined the Vancouver Canucks organization as a skills coach for both their NHL and AHL (Abbotsford Canucks) teams. In June 2024, he was promoted to assistant coach for the Canucks, working under head coach Rick Tocchet, with responsibilities including power-play coaching.

Svejkovský is also known for founding the BC Bears Hockey program and has coached notable NHL players like Milan Lucic and Evander Kane. He is married with three children, including sons Lukas and Tomas, and daughter Ava. Lukas, a forward prospect for the Pittsburgh Penguins, connected Svejkovský to Canucks captain Quinn Hughes through a youth hockey tournament.
It would be assumed, given his experience with the main advantage, that he would coach the Power Play with the orange and black.
