Wade Allison has only suited up in 15 games for the Flyers in his NHL career, and has already making impactful strides. He has netted four goals, and three assists for his efforts for his NHL career thus far. That’s right, thus far, unfortunately he has not been able to stay healthy throughout his career. Last season he suffered an injury during the rookie game, and was sidelined for three months or more. Allison also made one appearance for the Flyers, and got hurt in that game. In addition, he also got hurt while playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Whatever the case maybe for Allison, he’s still an important piece to the big club, and hopefully he can make an impact this season. Don’t be surprised if he starts the season with the Phantoms, thus Allison would be the first call-up. For his efforts, Allison was inked to a new two-year, two-way/one-way contract today with an average annual value (AAV) of $785,000.
After moving on from Western Michigan and recovering from an injury, Allison suited up for eight games with the Phantoms and recorded four goals and five assists for nine total points. One thing Wade Allison does well is pressure the puck in all three zones. In a game against the Devils in 2020-21, he really showed his ability to beat players to the puck in the corners, whether it was on the forecheck or in the Flyers zone. This is something that the Flyers can lack sometimes, effort to the puck.
Allison also possesses strong skating and offensive skills. He goes hard to the net and does well to generate changes in front for himself and teammates.
Wade is a player I am happy the Flyers have. He will only get better from here if he stays healthy. Keep an eye on this kid Flyers fans, watch out.
Linus Högberg
Former Flyers’ General Manager Ron Hextall drafted Linus Högberg in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Thanks to Head Scout Chris Pryor, as well, Hextall really nailed the latter portions of the draft, where, most teams crumble and shoot for the stars. Hextall has littered the Flyers pipeline with bottom six players for the most part.
Högberg finally made his long awaited NHL Debut this past season, as Kevin Connauton was injured in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“He’s not good,” Mike Yeo said when referring to Connauton’s injury following the game. Högberg made his NHL Debut as he donned the #84. He became the ninth player last season to make his NHL Debut for the Flyers.
Högberg really established himself as a quality puck moving defenseman during his last season in 2019-20, while playing for the Vaxjo Lakers in the SHL. He became much better in transition, and Högberg was able to exit the defensive zone cleanly, whether if it was by pushing the play up the ice, or looking for a quick pass to exit the defensive zone. For the season, he recorded five goals, and nine assists in 50 games played in arguably the third toughest league in the World.
For his efforts, the Flyers have also signed defenseman Linus Högberg to a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $750,000. This is a well deserved contract for Högberg. He may have only wanted a one-year deal to see where he stands in North America with the Flyers.

The Flyers only have one RFA (Restricted Free Agent) remaining in Hayden Hodgson, so look for the Flyers to ink him to a new deal in the coming days.
