The Flyers have been searching for a natural goal scorer for sometime, and their offense has suffered in years past because of such. They finally struck Gold after trading Brayden Schenn in June of 2017, for now what is Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee. Farabee has been flying all over the ice since his recall to the big club on October 20, 2019. So much so, the Flyers now have a blooming new duo in just one full game of playing with each other in Claude Giroux and Farabee.

This new duo of Giroux and Farabee combined for 3 points last night (2g, 1a), as the Flyers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1. Farabee was flying all over the ice, and his goal was on a setup directly from the Captain himself:

Some will say it’s just one game. However, it’s not easy to find chemistry, and click with one another after just one practice in between games. Both Giroux and Farabee have a similarities in their game. For instance, both players are fast, and Giroux and Farabee focus on the defensive side of the puck equally. Moreover, both players appear to be good on special teams, as well. This just appears to be a match made in heaven, and Alain Vigneault gets kudos for putting these two players together.

Vigneault has been on the search for line chemistry since the pre-season. He has tinkered with a top line of Giroux, Hayes, Voracek to JVR, Giroux, and Voracek. Finally, Vigneault can finally exhale, as he has finally found gold in a top line of JVR, Giroux, and Farabee. Let’s make no mistake about it, Farabee has earned this promotion to the top line.

The motto of the Flyers has been as Giroux goes, so does the Flyers. Giroux has been the engine of the orange and black since, “Kingdom come,” it seems like. Hopefully, Farabee can alleviate some of that pressure off Giroux’s shoulders, and the Flyers can ride high into the playoffs this season. Farabee could be become that threat on the wing for Giroux, like Jaromir Jagr was for him in 2011-12. Who knows right? The skies the limit for this new duo in Giroux and Farabee.

It’s about time this young stud in Farabee gets to make an imprint with the orange and black. Drafted by the Flyers in 2018 at 14th overall. Farabee was sent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to start the season, and he torched his opponents. For the Phantoms, he has registered 3 goals, to go along with 1 apple in 4 professional games played. Not too shabby I must say. Moreover, Farabee proved he could produce at a high level, and he is just so darn good at killing penalties, “I really believe in my Defensive game, Farabee said to me at Training Camp,It’s just as important as the offense is.

Farabee does the little things well, like draw penalties, and plays solid defense. He is a natural goal scorer that the Flyers have craved for the past few seasons. Farabee paired with Giroux is a match made in heaven, and Giroux has a lethal threat on the wing once again. One thing is certain Flyers fans, the future is bright in Flyer land.
