The Flyers officially placed forward Tyson Foerster on injured reserve today (November 3, 2025) with a lower-body injury, retroactive to November 1. What happened?

  • He blocked a hard shot off his left ankle/foot in the 1st period of Saturday’s 5-2 loss to Toronto.
  • Played the rest of that game, but was scratched Sunday vs. Calgary and will miss at least the next 3–4 games.
  • Coach Rick Tocchet: “We’ll re-evaluate in 3-4 days.”

Timeline

  • Out tomorrow night at Montreal (Nov 4).
  • He will miss Thursday at Nashville and Saturday vs. Ottawa.
  • Earliest possible return: next Wednesday (Nov 12) vs. Edmonton—if his ankle responds perfectly this week.

With the Foerster injury, the Flyers recalled defenseman Emil Andrae from Lehigh Valley. Andrae is back up for his third stint this season and could see real minutes while the blue-line is banged-up. Unfortunately, the loss of Foerster is a big one (4 goals, 7 points in 11 GP). He has been one of Philly’s most consistent forwards on the Cates-Brink line. Owen Tippett has slid over to replace him there.

Foerster is day-to-day lower-body injury, week-to-week absence, nothing long-term expected. Flyers are being cautious with their 23-year-old sniper.
