The Flyers were angry and mad against the New York Islanders last week, but they got the last laugh against the Islanders with a 5-3 victory.

It came with a price, as Ryan Poehling was knocked out of the game in the first period with an Upper Body injury. He was sent flying to the ice, after what appeared to be a targeting headshot hit. Originally, the referees initiated a five minute major, but after further review there was no penalty on the play. The Flyers were trailing 1-0 At that point, and that appeared to be a turning point in the game.
The Flyers have placed Ryan Poehling on IR (Injured Reserve), and have recalled Rodrigo Abols.

Darn shame for Poehling, who is still recovering from a cheap shot to the head from Max Tsyplakov. Anthony Richard just got back from an injury with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He was out for nearly a month, maybe that’s why he didn’t get the recall, as Richard played very well in his recall with the big club a few months ago.
