The Flyers have placed defenseman Egor Zamula on waivers today.

This move was confirmed by the Flyers, and it should come as no shock. It comes ahead of the NHL’s upcoming roster freeze (starting Friday night) and follows Zamula’s limited role this season—he’s appeared in only 13 games, recording one assist and a +4 rating, while being a healthy scratch recently.

The Flyers have a logjam on defense, with players like Rasmus Ristolainen returning from injury and younger options (e.g., Ty Murchison, Emil Andrae) pushing for permanent spots.

Zamula, 25, is in the final year of a two-year contract with a $1.7M cap hit. If he clears waivers (claims due by tomorrow afternoon), he can be assigned to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. If claimed, another team would take on his contract.
