Flyers fans are passionate, and have stuck with this team throughout the rebuilding process. They haven’t made the playoffs since the 2019-20 season, but the fans still support this team through thick and thin.

That was made evident this past Saturday night, as Cutter Gauthier made his Wells Fargo Center debut. One thing the City of Philadelphia does not like, are players that refuse to play for their said team. No one was surprised about some of the chants “F..k you Cutter”, “Jamie’s Better”, or “We want Cutter ‘.

Gauthier was a marked man. The crowd was full of energy, the building was packed. Personally, I haven’t seen that type of raucous crowd since Claude Giroux’s last game as a Flyer a few years ago. The building hasn’t had that much energy since then, so it was great to see the fans really into the game this past Saturday night, from start to finish.

“The drama leading up to it. I thought the crowd was terrific,” Anaheim Ducks Head Coach Greg Cronin said following the game.

Matvei Michkov joined in on the party, and he realized even in his short brief tenure in North America. Just how much this game meant to Flyers fans, “That was the best crowd. Thank you fans,” Michkov said via translator following the game.

Michkov posted a good post on Instagram yesterday about that night:

Jamie Drysdale had one of his best games as a Flyer, against his former team. He netted one goal and one assist. These are the type of moments that can define a player, so hopefully Drysdale can build upon this, “It was pretty special. Unbelievable fans, and they were rocking tonight,” Drysdale said following the game.

What a night, the feels
