The Flyers came out strong in the first period of play, as they scored and scored again. It turned out to be a great afternoon for the Flyers, as they blasted the Oilers 6-3 before the largest crowd at a Flyers game since February 2022, 19,847 fans in attendance to be exact.

The orange and black received a huge boost on the Power Play courtesy of Andrei Kuzmenko. Kuzmenko cycles the puck well, and is so skilled offensively. Kuzmenko netted his first as a Flyer.

“You can see his offense, you can see his skill,” said Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella. “The encouraging thing for me. I think he makes a few mistakes defensively. I correct him on the bench as we are playing. Same type of plays come to him, and he makes the corrections.”

“It was a funny shift,” Kuzmenko said after scoring his first as a Flyer on the man advantage. “After first moment I have a broken stick. I go the bench, and I say stick, stick (Banging it) please pass puck to me, and I look and have a broken stick, but I score. 2 broken sticks.”

Yes, the Flyers came out after the Four Nations break well, and hopefully they continue their play on Tuesday. Owen Tippett, Matvei Michkov, and Sean Couturier were also on fire. Tippett netted two goals, while Sean Couturier and Matvei Michkov had one goal and two assists apiece.

The Flyers are now riding a two game winning streak.
