The Flyers announced today that they have assigned three players, from their European Loan, to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The American Hockey League is preparing to start soon with a targeted February 5, 2021 start date.
Three Flyers prospects: Maksim Sushko, Linus Högberg, and David Kaše have all been called back to North America to get ready for the season.
Maksim Sushko (RW) – HC Dinamo Minsk (KHL)
The Belarusian winger got a taste of pro hockey, playing in Russia’s pro league on a loan. In 30 games played, Sushko scored two goals and added three assists for five total points. Last year with the Phantoms, Sushko put up a good stat-line of points. He will look to be a big contributor to the young Phantoms team this season.
Linus Högberg (D) – HC Vita Hästen (Hockey Allsvenskan)
The 2016 fifth-rounder will be coming over for his first pro season in North America. To start this year, Högberg was playing on loan to HC Vita, in a Swedish Minor League, where he posted two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 27 games. Before this season, Högberg played the last four seasons in the SHL with the Vaxjo Lakers.
David Kaše (LW/RW) – HC Energie Karlovy Vary(Czech)
Kaše was a very impactful player on his loan to HC Energie of the Czech League. In 27 games, Kaše scored six goals and added 19 assists for 25 total points. Upon his leave, Kaše currently leads his team in points. He has played in North America for the past two seasons, even seeing some NHL time last year. Kaše will come in and be an important point-producer and leader for the Phantoms.
