The Flyers are in a tough spot right now in the 2025-26 season. As of mid-February 2026 (around February 13), they’ve played 56 games and sit at 25-20-11 for 61 points, placing them sixth in the Metropolitan Division and well out of the playoff picture. The Metropolitan Division top teams are stronger:

  • Carolina Hurricanes leading with 78 points in 57 games.
  • Pittsburgh Penguins at 70 points in 56 games.
  • New York Islanders at 69 points in 58 games.
  • Others like Columbus Blue Jackets around 65 points.

The Flyers are eight points behind a Wild Card spot (depending on exact Eastern Conference standings), and they’ve been dealing with a rough skid post-holidays and a recent overtime loss to Ottawa. Playoff odds reflect the challenge:

  • Models like MoneyPuck give them about 10-11% chance to make the playoffs, projecting around 88-89 points total.
  • Betting odds have them as longshots (e.g., +500 or worse in some spots earlier in February, meaning they’d need a big surge).

With about 26 games left (roughly a quarter of the season remaining), they’d need a strong winning streak—something like going 18-6-2 or better in their remaining schedule—to push toward the typical 90-95+ points often needed for an Eastern Wild Card in a competitive year.

The Metro is bunched up and competitive, with most teams above .500, so climbing out of this hole would require hot Goaltending, consistent offense (they’re allowing more goals than scoring lately), and some help from other results.

It’s not impossible—hockey has seen bigger comebacks—but they’d have to win a ton of games, at a .700+ pace the rest of the way, to have a real shot. What do you think—any specific players or upcoming matchups you’re eyeing that could spark a run?
